Why Does it Matter Where Your Phone Gets Unlocked?

There are a few reasons why you should be careful where you take your phone to:

• Legality

  Some unlocking services use hacks to enter the networks database and remove the locks attached to your phone. Not only is this damgerous for you, it's also illegal. You should be very careful about this way of mobile unlocking.

• Hacked Chips

  Another way to bypass a network lock is to hack your mobile itself, this is also known as 'jailbreaking'. This is also illegal and makes your mobile phone vunerable to other hacks from external parties. Your mobile is equipped with a firewall and when you hack the chips on your phone, this can cause your firewall to be disabled, at least temporarily. This gives a window for external malware and trojans to gain access of your phone.

  Not only do you want to stay on the correct side of the law, you also want to be assured that your unlock has been handled by professionals and does not make your phone vunerable in other aspects. It's also important to note that if you choose one of the previous ways, it's possible your phone becomes 'locked' again after a software update.
